01The brief

A commission, not a venue booking

Casa Loma is a house museum in Toronto, and studios usually meet it as a venue. This job was different: the company that operates Casa Loma commissioned a film.

It was made for Powering Progress: Toronto's Electric Revolution, an exhibition by Casa Loma and Toronto Hydro, 5 January to 5 February 2026.

Frames from the film

The film moves from Sir Henry Pellatt and Niagara Falls to a city lighting up, an electric train at a station, and Casa Loma with a vintage Toronto Hydro truck.
